"MAMAY Breakout": picking coins by their signature

Words in this lesson (9)
Long — Buying in the hope that the price will rise. Buy lower, sell higher.
Short — Selling in the hope that the price will fall: you sell something borrowed, then buy it back cheaper. You make money when the price drops.
Order book — The list of all buy and sell orders at every price at this very second.
Wall — A very large order in the order book at one price — many times bigger than its neighbors. It often acts as a wall for the price.
Open interest — How many futures positions are currently open in the market. Rising — new money is coming in; falling — money is leaving.
Volume — How much money or how many units changed hands over a period. A move on high volume is more reliable than one on low volume.
Level — A price where the market has already turned before. Support is below the price, resistance is above it.
Screener — A filtering program: it scans hundreds of stocks or coins and shows only those that match the given criteria.
Position — An open trade: what you have bought or sold and haven't closed yet.
The idea of the screener
Out of hundreds of coins, on any given day only two or three are truly interesting: they have a big player, volume and a clear move. The "MAMAY Breakout" screener filters out the rest.
The main difference from many screeners: there are no "slightly better — slightly worse" grades here. Either the coin has passed every check — and that's a SIGNAL — or it hasn't. This is deliberate: in testing, a points score didn't separate the signals that worked from those that didn't, so it was kept only for sorting.
Open interest in plain words
Open interest (OI) is how many futures positions are currently open. Together with the price it shows who is moving the market:
Price
OI
What's happening
up
up
new buyers are coming in — the rise is real
up
down
shorts are closing — a rise on other people's stops, it can end quickly
down
up
new sellers are coming in
down
down
longs are giving up and leaving
If OI moves out of step with the price, the screener marks it as "chaos" — such a coin can't be read.
Walls in the order book
A wall is a large order at one level, many times bigger than its neighbors. The screener shows the largest wall below the price: its size and the distance to it. A real wall works as support; a fake one gets pulled as the price approaches.
These lessons live inside the MAMAY terminal. There they come with a mentor powered by your AI that explains the screen you have open right now, reviews of your trades, and everything hidden on the site: screener rules, settings and live examples. Learning and manual trading are free.
